Some family traditions are intentional and planned, but others seem to sprout from spontaneity — and a desire to see and feel the world anew. In our family’s case, we‘ve unofficially started a tradition of visiting the Como Park Conservatory on New Years Day. How do I know? While I was editing these images, I discovered photos taken on the same day the last three years!
After two months of cold and snow, we love in the warmth of the green house. The smell of dirt — alive and bountiful — is intoxicating.
I feel so fortunate to work with families and capture fun moments. Some sessions had beautiful weather and bright autumn leaves. And, as you’d expect from the unpredictable Minnesota weather, sometimes snowfall took center stage. Here are some of my favorite images from our fall photo sessions.
This past weekend, I finally finished editing the 1500 photos I shot during the Justin Courtney Pierre show with Youth Gangs and Pronoun at the 7th Street Entry. Maybe it was the amazing talent on stage or the intimacy of the space, but I've never been in a more enthusiastic and supportive crowd. (And, next time I'm at the Turf Club, I'm treating myself to this shirt.)
